On the evening of January 4, 2020, the United Nations Foundation's "Nothing But Nets" fundraising launch ceremony and charity dinner were successfully held in Hong Kong. Mr. Jasper Tsang Yok-sing came to support it.
Since its establishment in 2016, the Hong Kong Higher Education Association has been committed to developing youth affairs, cultivating young talents, and adhering to the purpose of improving itself and serving the society. Over the years, the association has actively organized various non-profit and diversified public welfare and charity activities to serve young students from across the Taiwan Strait . It encourages young people to actively participate in extracurricular activities, cultivate good interests, and establish a network of relationships in addition to strengthening their own learning areas, leading young students to pursue positive values and gather strength for the development of a harmonious society. At the same time, the association helps students understand the social environment in which they live in and recognize changes in the international community.
For the first time this year, we cooperated with the fundraising agency of the United Nations Foundation "Nothing But Nets", and joined hands with the Hong Kong non-profit organization - Healthy Action and the Shanghai Overseas Chinese Development Foundation to help children threatened by malaria in African countries. This is a large-scale charitable fundraising event for purchasing insecticide-treated mosquito nets with families, helping to improve the local mosquito problem, and working to raise global health awareness.
It is hoped that through this event, members and young people in Hong Kong can actively participate in charity and public welfare undertakings, understand the situation and development of the country and the world, care about the common issues and challenges of human beings around the world, and gain awareness of world citizenship. It also arouses the public's health awareness, shares the latest knowledge and information, and calls for public attention for the destiny of mankind.
